Huge Collective Haul - Fall 2013

Collective Haul - Summer Edition

Huge Haul from Orlando, Fl!!!

I am back home, finally!  Which means that now I've got good internet connection and more time to film and..... blog? Question mark on the last one since I have been procrastinating on blogging. Not good.  I do have two reviews coming up that I'm only going to post on my blog.  So at least I have something!!

Anyway, today I already posted my newest video on my YouTube Channel which is a haul of all of the things I bought from my trip to Orlando.  I need to admit to you that I'm a bit worried.  Since I only spent two weeks in Orlando and I bought sooooo many stuff that the haul video is almost 30 minutes. Shame on me for spending recklessly.  But is not everyday, right??? (Wishful thinking!!)

My New Obsession: Contrast Sleeve Jackets

These couple of months I have been an irresponsible blogger and I must apologize for that.  No new posts for almost a month! Shame on me!  But you guys already know that school is responsible for my lack of blogging.  School needs to end immediately! LOL

Now, let's get to the point of this post.  My obsession for this fall, and actually it has been for a while, is Contrast Sleeve Jackets.  During this season it has become a really big trend and we don't need to ask why; this kind of jackets are so edgy and the one's that I like the most are the jackets with leather sleeves. 

The contrast sleeve Jackets come with different contrasting sleeves, but the most popular are leather sleeves.  This is a very versatile piece because there is no need to have layers over layers to achieve the contrast sleeve style.  You just throw this puppy on and you are good to go.  Plus, depending on the color you choose it goes with practically everything.

Nasty Gal Exclusive Collection

Oh man!!!! Nasty Gal with their own collection and I am late on blogging about it and the worst thing is that I bought something from their collection like a week ago. Double Shame!! The item that I ordered already arrived and I love it!! Before I go to the piece that I bought let’s talk about the collection a little bit. This is NG first line and they actually launched it during Fashion Week, wish I could have gone. Even though most of the pieces are pricey you cannot deny that Nasty Gal did a good job. The pieces are amazing and unique and they definitely live up to the company's name. Most of their pieces look very late 80's-90's grunge. The good thing is that the majority of the pieces are very versatile and you can dress them down or up.

Nasty Gal ha sacado su propia colección y yo estoy tarde en bloguear sobre ella. Lo peor es que la semana compre una de las piezas de la colección, ¡¡¡VERGUENZA!!! La pieza que ordene me llego hoy y me encanta pero antes de hablar de esa pieza vamos hablar un poco sobre la colección. Esta es la primera colección oficial de NG y fue debutada en ‘Fashion Week’, que por cierto hubiera deseado haber ido. Aunque la mayoría de las piezas están caras no se puede negar que Nasty Gal hizo un buen trabajo. Las piezas están increíbles y únicas y definitivamente están relacionadas con el nombre de la compañía. La mayoría de las piezas parece de los años 80-90 grunge. Lo bueno es que la mayoría de las piezas se pueden usar de varias formas y las puedes usar un poco más casual o elegante.

When I first saw this cardigan I was like 0_0 , I NEED TO HAVE!! Even though it is very simple various possibilities went through my mind and they all rocked. I must say that for a while now I have wanted to have some kind of jacket that came with sleeves of other color but for me this was much better, it had what  I had wanted plus cut-out elbows.

It is pricey but I must say that the quality is amazing.  It is really heavy which for some reason it makes me like it more and VERY warm so don't be fool by the picture. The fabric is amazing too it is very soft and you just want to snuggle with it and it can be used in many ways. One that I'm dying to try is a flowy white shirt, leggings or leather leggings and my Jeffrey Campbell Edea Spike.

If you want it, get it fast, unfortunately the only size left is Small.

Cuando vi este cárdigan por primera vez me quede así 0_0 . Aunque es una pieza simple varias posibilidades pasaron por mi cabeza y todas me encantaron. Debo decir que desde hace un tiempo e querido un abrigo que tenga las mangas de otro color y cuando vi este fue como que muchísimo mejor, incluye lo que quería mas tiene cortes en los codos.

Es caro pero es de buena calidad y es pesado lo que por alguna razón hace que me guste más. Debes tener en cuenta que es bien caliente así es que no te dejes engañar por la foto. La fábrica del cárdigan es súper suave y como dije anteriormente es una pieza muy versátil. Una de las formas que lo quiero usar es con una camisa blanca ancha, leggings o leggings de cuero y mis Jeffrey Campbell Edea Spike.

Si deseas comprarlo te aconsejo que lo compres ya. Lamentablemente solo queda talla Pequeña.

This jacket is similar to the one that I bought but in my opinion this one is soooo much cooler. Especially, since the sleeves aren't the same color which makes me like it even more. One of the sleeves is a baby blue and the other one is a light pink. I think that this jacket would look so cool with so many outfits and it would add edge to any boring outfit.

Este abrigo es parecido a mi cárdigan pero en mi opinión este esta muchísimo mejor. Especialmente porque las mangas no son del mismo color. Una manga es un azul claro y la otra rosita claro. Pienso que este abrigo se vería brutal con cualquier 'outfit' y le añadiría algo extra a cualquier 'outfit' aburrido.

How to Style: Basic Pieces with a Twist

Today I'm posting another video from my YouTube Channel that I have had saved on my computer for a while now. I wasn't going to upload it to YouTube because sincerely I didn't like how I looked on it, but because it took me a lot of time editing I thought that maybe I should post it.

Explanation of the video: These pieces that I'm styling are basic but with a twist because they are pieces that anyone can have. I consider that these bacic pieces have a twist to them because they have something extra. For example the oatmeal cardigan it's a piece that a lot of people can have but with the fringes it adds something more it makes it less boring.

PS. This weekend I'm going to work in posting a little more. Since my last two posts have been videos. I think I have like three post that I want to make for this week. So keep posted!

Hoy estoy posteando otro video de mi Canal de YouTube que e tenido grabado en mi computadora por algún tiempo. No lo iba a subir a YouTube porque sinceramente no me gusta como me veo en el, pero como me tomo tanto tiempo en editar decidí subirlo.

Explicación del Video: Las piezas que voy a presentar son básicas pero con algo extra. A lo que me refiero es que son piezas que todo el mundo tiene en su guardarropa pero tienen algo que las hace ver más divertidas y no tan aburridas. Por ejemplo el cárdigan de flecos es una pieza básica que todo el mundo tiene pero con los flecos le añade un toque extra.

PS. Este fin semana voy a estar trabajando un poco más en mis 'posts' ya que los últimos han sido videos. Creo que tengo como tres 'post' que quiero hacer para esta semana. ¡Así es que este pendiente!

 

 

OOTD No. 7

Sorry about the quality of these pictures but when I was going to use my camera it didn't have batteries so I ended up using my cellphone one.

Yesterday, I wore this outfit and it was sooooo comfortable, because I had on very light pieces.  At first you may think that what I'm wearing is a skirt but it isn't, is a dress and I decided to put the shirt over it.  I thought it made it look more relaxed and then with my favorite combat boots it was perfect.  I must admit that I felt weird about this outfit but at the same time I thought it was cool, I don't know, sometimes I'm like that with the outfits I wear.  The thing that would probably pop out more about this outfit is the purse, yes is my ASOS purse and yes I did said I needed to change it already, but I just love that it makes every outfit look really casual.

Perdonen la calidad de las fotos pero cuando fui a usar mi cámara no tenia baterías, así es que termine usando mi celular.

Ayer use este atuendo y era muy cómodo porque las piezas eran bien ligeras. Al principio pensaras que estoy usando una falda, pero no es una falda es un traje con el cual decidí ponerme una camisa encima de él. Pienso que hacia ver el look mas casual, especialmente con mis botas favoritas. Debo admitir que al principio me sentía rara con el atuendo pero al mismo tiempo me gustaba; yo a veces soy así con mis atuendos. Tal vez lo que mas te llame la atención es mi cartera de ASOS, la cual dije que tenia que cambiar, pero me encanta tanto que no lo e hecho.

Things I would love to Have: Alexander McQueen

Right now, I'm kind of hyper and I don't know why.  I do know that I was going to film a video for my channel but then I thought that right know I am not prepare to make one; I need to plan.  So I decided to blog since for me it's easier than filming.
So I'm just chilling in my bed with a brownie and my dog Pochaco.  Before we start, everybody say HI to Pochaco (picture below).

Ahora mismo estoy un poco eléctrica y no se por qué. Lo que si se es que iba a filmar un video para mi canal pero después me puse a pensar que ahora mismo no estoy preparada para hacer uno; necesito planearlo. Así es que decidí postear ya que para mi es mas fácil que grabar.

Así es que estoy aquí pasando el tiempo en mi cama con un brownie y mi perro Pochaco. Antes de empezar todo el mundo diga hola a Pochaco (foto abajo).

While I was thinking about what I was going to post about I decided to look around the Internet for things that I like.  Then I thought that maybe I should do a post about things that I dream of having and this is what this new segment on this blog going to be about.  It consist on choosing a really nice designer piece and featuring it here.  Cuz a girl can always dream!! In the title you can already see what this segment is going to be called and today I'm featuring Alexander McQueen. Since this is the first post related with this segment I'm going to post about 6 difference pieces of this designer, but after this one I'm only going to future one piece per segment.

Mientras estaba pensando sobre que iba a escribir decidí ponerme a buscar cosas que me gustan en la Internet. Entonces me vino a la mente que tal vez debería hacer un posts de cosas que sueño con tener y este va a ser mi nuevo segmento en mi blog, en donde escojo una pieza de diseñador que me encante. Una chica siempre puede soñar, no tiene nada de malo. En el título puedes ver como se llamara este segmento y hoy estaré presentando algunas piezas por Alexander McQueen. Como este es el primer segmento voy a presentar 6 diferentes piezas por este diseñador, pero en los futuros segmentos solo habrá una pieza por segmento.

These are my choices for today and yes they are mainly dresses but I just love how sophisticated they look. Number 2 and 5 have that sophisticated look but combined with kind of a gothic/rocker vibe. How cool would number 5 look with an amazing leather jacket?!

I have always wanted a dress like number 3 is so classy. It says I'm a woman who has power and I love it. Just like the shoes, if I was walking down the streets with those, criminals should be wary of me. It would kind of be like, I have a spike and I am not afraid to use it!

My two favorite items are number 1 and 4 because they have skulls and I LOVE skulls! That's my favorite thing about McQueen's designs that he always uses the skull in a very fashionable and rocker way, yet looking very classy.

Estos son mis opciones de para hoy y si casi todos son trajes y es porque me fascina lo sofisticado que se ven. Numero 2 y 5 tienen un look sofisticado pero que a la misma vez combina el estilo gótico/roquero. ¡¿No creen que el traje numero 5 se vería de show con una chamarra en cuero?!

Siempre e querido un traje como el numero 3 se ve súper elegante para mi dice soy una mujer y tengo poder y a mi me encanta. Es como los zapatos, si yo estuviera caminando por las calles con ellos, los criminales deberían tenerme miedo. Uno nunca quiere molestar a una chica con clavos en lo zapatos.

Mis dos piezas favoritas son numero 1 y 4 porque tienen carabelas y a mi me encantan. Esa es mi parte favorita de los diseños de McQueen, siempre tiene una carabela o algo que se ve bien roquero y a la moda en sus colecciones, pero a la misma vez se ve elegante.

OOTD No. 5

Yeah, another OOTD!! I love OOTD but I need to post less of them from now on because I'm posting way too many. Sorry if I am not very photogenic, between you and me, I HATE pictures and that day I didn't feel like putting a nice face but then again I never feel like putting a nice face in pictures cause I feel that they don't do me justice, sometimes.  Anyway this is about the outfit not about me looking good in pictures.

 I wore this to go to lunch with friends and it was super comfortable, cause I had an oversized shirt which I shouldn't be wearing since it makes me look heavier but I'm a masochist so I didn't care, it's a comfortable shirt.  If you are a plus size lady don’t be like me and avoid anything oversized it adds pounds to you and you don’t want that.  I don’t want that, it’s just that Urban Outfitters oversized shirts are the best.  I have like 4 from them and I got them on sale, which is a bonus.  I would recommend to always check UO Sale section they have nice things for an even nicer price.

By the way this pictures were taken by my father.  So I think that means that while I'm living with my parents my dad is going to be my photographer.  I decided to call his business 'Papi's Photography' LOL.  If you're wondering what papi means, is spanish for dad.

I will probably do a post about how Plus Size girls should dress and still look nice.  That's a post I need to start planning on.

Otro Outfit del Día, siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!! Me encantan los ODD pero necesito tomar un descanso de este tipo de 'post' porque no todo puede ser ODD. Perdónenme si no soy muy fotogénica pero entre ustedes y yo, yo ODIO las fotos y ese día no estaba de humor para poner una buena cara. Aunque eso no hace mucha diferencia ya que yo nunca tengo buena cara para las fotos porque pienso que no siempre me hacen justicia. Pero ya voy a dejar de explicar porque no me gustan las fotos este 'post' es sobre mi ODD. Me puse este 'outfit' para ir a comer con mis amigos y era súper cómodo porque la camisa era del modelo 'oversized' de las camisas que corren grande. Cosa que no debería de ponerme ya que me hace ver con libras de más, lo que no es bueno. Esto es para las muchachas que son de talla grande, nunca se les ocurra usar camisas 'oversized, como yo hago. Siempre es mejor ponerse camisas un poco más ajustadas.  Tal vez, debería hace un post sobre que tipo de ropa le queda bien a las mujeres de tallas mas grande ese es un ‘post’ que tengo que planear.

A mi me encantan las camisas ‘oversized’ de Urban Outfitters ya tengo como 4 y todos las compre en rebaja.  Recomiendo que si alguna de ustedes quiere comprar algo de UO chequean el Sale section ya que tienen muy buenas prendas por buenos precios.

Por si acaso, mi papá fue el que tomo mis fotos.  Creo que de ahora en adelante mis sesiones fotográficas las voy a llamar ‘Papi’s Photography’.  XD

Printed pants are really popular this Summer.  There a lot of them that has some cool patterns but I think this is a style you have to be very careful when you are wearing it.  Some of them have prints that are way too outrages and it brings all kind of unwanted attention and some have a print that brings quite the opposite attention.  You can dress this pants down or make them more "fancy" looking.  Either way this kind of style is perfect for the hot summers since it basically counts as an accessory and this is great since most people in the Summer don't want to wear a lot of jewelry.  Another thing is that it's great for all body types you just have to choose the right print for your body and they are quite easy to style them since all you need is a nice basic shirt or shoes, or you can even play with patterns you just need to be really careful when you do it since you don't wanna look like "Hey mommy, I'm playing dress up" you really want to avoid that look.  Overall, I think that printed jeans should be in every woman's closet since it's a style that can transition to different seasons.
