Vlog: Life in Color (Dayglow)

Hi Everybody! Hope you guys have had a good week so far.  Mine has been pretty uneventful.  Except for last weekend.  Last weekend Life in Color came to Puerto Rico with David Solano and Cazzette.  I would had probably made a vlog video for my vlog channel, but hey is a paint party it wasn't the safest thing to use a camera.

Anyway, in our tickets it said that doors would open at 8 pm so we got there a little early to check out the place and where we could park.  When we got there we decided to park and do the line since there were a lot of people waiting already. Like it was to be expected doors didn't open at 8 pm it was more 8:40 pm and people were already getting crazy in the line.

When my friend and I finally were inside, we went straight for the front of the stage.  We didn't stop for any of those cute souvenirs or a nice cold beer.  We were right in front were the railings are.  A good place to get a lot of paint on you.  While we waited with the opening act, Dano, people started buying paint bottles and making paint fights (it was like 5 year olds were on the venue), it was a really fun moment to be a kid again. We didn't buy paint bottles, but with all of the 'fighting' we got some paint on us.

I say that it took almost an hour and half for the host to come out, by that time I was in a bad mood because there was no paint anywhere.  The host started screaming what do you guys want and we were all like paint duh!! (LOL) He started doing a little rap, which was kind of cheesy but cool and then he said are you ready for the countdown for the paint blast.  When he said that, a countdown came up on the screen.  We still had 44 minutes to go! I was already so tired and sweaty (regretting I didn't buy that nice cold beer).  While we waited for the paint blast every minute down on the screen people started getting crazier and crazier and started pushing more to get to the front.  I mean come on, if you guys are late you are late point, don't push so much that you crush people in the front that is dangerous!

To make a long story short they took almost 4 or 5 girls that were almost fainting, one of them had fainted already and another one was a girl on wheelchair!  A new whole meaning to crowd surfing? I don't know what that girl on the wheelchair was thinking, it's good that she wanted to have fun, but people in there were getting really inconsiderate.

When the countdown was finally over (Thank God!, I was being crushed already) the LIC trailer started playing and then this guy with a really cool suit came out with these two girls.  The girls got harness to some ropes and they started doing acrobatics in the air, it was amazing!!  While all of that was happening the guys started bringing out the paint buckets and started spraying people.  That's when a splatter of paint hit my face and I went crazy, is like you know it's coming but at the same time you don't expected. Then another huge splatter of paint hit my face and I was screaming looking at my friend like OMG this is crazy!!!!  OMG it tastes horrible!! OMG it burns my face!!  Yes, I did OMG a lot.  I had to pour the bottle of water I had on me to stop the burning.  The paint does burn, but after a while you don't feel it because of the adrenaline.

I didn't stay long, David Solano was playing his first song and we had to leave cause people kept crushing us, it was too much!  We had to jump the railing with the help of a security guard.  When we were out of all of that madness it was like wow my personal space is back!! Instead of hanging around we decided to leave, I kind of regret it now, but even outside the crowd people were a little crazy getting drunk not a good place to hang out.

Overall, if we exclude the crazy audience it was really fun there was a lot of paint especially if you are in the front.  If you are not in the front don't worry there are people that buy paint bottles, believe me you will get paint in you with all of the paint fights going on.

Now for some pictures.  All of the pictures bellow are pictures I could find were Karla and me came up (You can click on the picture to enlarge them).  If you want to see more pictures of the Puerto Rico concert, click here.

While we waited in line we took silly pictures.

When we were finally inside we took more pictures and I was able to take one of the opening act.  The paint splatter you see on my hat is part of the paint fight people had going on in the back.  Even before the party had properly started we had some paint on us.  I had mostly on my legs and a little bit on my hair.

In this picture the countdown is almost over.

This is when they started spraying paint on us.

In this picture Karla is stealing my spotlight, LOL. I look a bit scared and the paint I have all over my face and neck is a result of the first spray of paint is not even the second one, so you can imagine. The kid on the orange shirt I have no idea who it is, but hello random person.

In this picture you can see Karla being helped to get out of the crowd by security.

You can see Karla and me on the far right trying to get the attention of security to get out.

I can't see anything through my glasses.

This was a picture before they started spraying the paint, just when the party had really started.

You can see the guy spraying paint on us.

Another pic of us trying to call security, but you can see how nasty we look.  The only reason why I don't have that much paint on my face is because I emptied the bottle of water on my face.

When the opening act was still playing the camera guy of LIC took this two pictures of Karla's phone you can see my head on the right.  Again the paint you can see on my head is part of the paint fight.  The girl on the left looks like that because she was part of it.

These last three pictures are the aftermath of that day.  In the first one you can see that we look like some dirty hobos and on the second one you can still see the remainings of the paint on my body.  This was after I put water on my face and I tried to clean most of it on the venue with some baby wipes, meaning I looked much worse than this.

PS. The paint smells like glue and in some parts it dries like it is glue.  I can honestly say it is washable.  I washed my clothes the next day when the paint was dry and the paint got off completely.
